“The Penn Debate Society is dedicated to fostering a vibrant community of debaters who excel in competitive achievement, embody values of inclusivity and diversity, and engage in impactful social outreach.

In recent years, our team members have achieved extraordinary competitive success at some of the largest international competitions in the world, including the World and US Universities Debating Championships. We also consistently rank among the top 10 university debate teams on the American Parliamentary Debate circuit.

We are committed to making PDS truly feel like a family and supporting one another outside of competitive debate. We regularly organize socials, recruiting events, and show debates to encourage community building and personal growth.

Outside of our own competitive endeavors, we strive to create social impact through debate. Over the past few years, we have regularly organized the Prison Debate workshop as part of SCI Chester Facility’s reentry initiative and additionally host an annual World Schools tournament for high school students.”
